Experience the music, the legacy, and the spirit of Tom Petty live on stage when The Broken Hearts: Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers take over the Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 8:00 PM. The performance marks a major stop on the highly anticipated “King of Hearts” Tour 2026, celebrating 50 years of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and bringing an unforgettable night of rock & roll to downtown St. Petersburg.
Formed in the wake of Tom Petty’s passing in October 2017, The Broken Hearts were created by former Tom Petty and Mudcrutch bandmate Charlie Souza, alongside vocalist/guitarist Shawn Scheller, as a heartfelt tribute to Petty’s life, music, and enduring influence. What began as special appearances at memorial events quickly grew into overwhelming demand, prompting Souza and Scheller to launch the project as a national touring production in 2018.
The “King of Hearts” Tour also reunites Scheller with former Save The Radio! bandmate TL Jentgens, who since 2018 has become one of Florida’s most highly attended and award-winning solo performers. Jentgens will incorporate elements of his signature high-energy concert technology into select Broken Hearts performances throughout the U.S. in 2026.
