The Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater, which seats 2031, is lushly appointed and designed to look and feel like a classic European opera house and is not like any other theater in the Tampa Bay area. The Mahaffey brings an elevated excellence to any performance from dance recitals, award winning speakers to major entertainers. Our light and sound systems are state of the art and the acoustics are rich, full and all-encompassing. From vocalists with small combos, big jazz bands and superstar singers to full-on rock’n’roll groups, everyone sounds and looks their best when onstage here. Keep in mind, there is not a bad seat in the house!
