Beethoven: Choral Fantasy

Bernstein: Symphony No. 3, “Kaddish” (text by Samuel Pisar)

Michael Francis conducts an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. Be uplifted by Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, a fusion of piano, orchestra and choir that hints at the famous Ode to Joy theme. Then, Bernstein’s deeply moving “Kaddish” Symphony features text by Samuel Pisar, who defied all odds to survive the Holocaust. In this rare performance, his widow, Judith, and daughter, Leah, provide special narration. Both works feature The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, principal chorus of The Florida Orchestra.

Free Pre-Concert Conversations: Start 1 hour before the performance in the concert hall. Sponsored by The Ruth & J O Stone Foundation.
