Lili Boulanger: Of a Spring Morning

Faure: Requiem

Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3, “Organ”

“I gave everything to it I was able to give,” Saint-Saëns said of his Third Symphony. TFO Resident Conductor Chelsea Gallo takes us to France for a program featuring Saint-Saëns’ lush masterpiece, which builds until the splendor of the organ is let loose in the breathtaking conclusion. A tribute to Fauré’s father, his Requiem creates a place of peace and serenity with rich, soulful melodies, featuring The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. The vibrant energy of Lili Boulanger’s Of a Spring Morning begins the concert.

Bonus! For every Masterworks concert, Michael Francis has personally chosen a surprise “mystery piece” to enhance your experience. What will it be this weekend?

PRE-CONCERT CONVERSATIONS: Get the real story behind the composers and their music, straight from the conductor and guest soloists. Starts one hour before each Masterworks concert in the theater. Included free with each concert ticket.
